In love with a shadow...
I've promised it my heart
Promised to wait for it till the end of days.
The night is a comfort, the day is a pain.
In love with a shadow I pray for the rain,
when all the clouds blot out the sun and me and my lover can be as one.
In love with a shadow.... a useless drain.
I cry alone in a well lit hall, I wish the walls would fall,
I wish for a forest to swallow me up, I wish for the sun to set.
Tear my hair out, bite my nails, crack my bones and tether my feet-I hate this.
You all bath me in light, all I ask for is night.
I'm in love with a shadow, why isn't that alright?

So... This is my feeble attempt at writing poetry.
Um.... the first line was intended for me.... But then as I was writing another character came to mind.... two of them actually.... and then a friend reminded me of two more. But it's really just for him. The first one. He was the one I was thinking of when I was writing this- so I dedicate it to him, and his love. I don't know if he'd ever word it this way, I don't know him as well as I probably should. . . . but I'm sure his love would like it. Aand. now I know how Shirt Guy Dom feels writing and drawing with that track 8 ball. Yeah, so anyway, no flaming me please? I know it's not very good. |
